SomaGold is a multi-strategy breakout Expert Advisor for Gold (XAUUSD) on MetaTrader 5. Instead of one setup tuned to a narrow market regime, it runs 32 pre-tuned strategies in parallel, each with its own timeframe, swing parameters, exits, news windows and lot allocation. 🔬 How the Portfolio Was Built

The developer documents the full process on the product page:

48 optimisations: 2 time ranges (2018–2023 and 2020–2025) × 4 timeframe groups (D1, H12, H8, H4) × 3 breakout breadths (Broad, Medium, Narrow) × 2 targets (return/balance DD, then return/equity DD).

Then filtered out:

1. Strategies that correlated with each other
2. Strategies that didn’t match real-tick results
3. Strategies that failed out of sample on 2007–2018

That out-of-sample window covers the 2008 financial crisis, the 2011–2013 gold bull and bear cycle, the long 2014–2018 consolidation, and several news shocks. 32 strategies survived. All optimisation ran with Friday close enabled, so no strategy scored on weekend gaps.

Lot allocation was set by a Python script: strategies that correlate in drawdown get smaller allocations; strategies that add value get larger ones.

Monday-open / Friday-close window (on by default) to avoid weekend gaps.
